About me

Hello, my name is Samantha. As a qualified Chartered and Registered Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist I am able to provide professional, confidential and sensitive Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to individuals and couples from private clinics in Brentwood, and Waltham Abbey, Essex.

The aim of this therapy is to equip individuals with the necessary skills and coping mechanisms to deal with the problems and challenges that they face under life’s pressures. This form of therapy can help to change negative thinking patterns which keep individuals from fulfilling life goals, encourage you to be more in control of your life, develop better self esteem/self confidence, gain a clearer sense of direction and learn social, interpersonal and problem solving skills.

When individuals have challenges or problems in their lives where these negative thoughts, moods, behaviours and physiological reactions begin to impact relationships, work, quality of life and general daily functioning, now is the best time to do something about it. Some of the main areas that can be addressed include but are not exclusive to:

Anger management
Anxiety (General, Social, Health)
Behavioural Problems
Eating Disorders
Chronic Fatigue / Sleep problems / Insomnia
Relationships problems / Divorce / Separation
Depression
Drug / Alcohol problems
Low Self Esteem
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Retirement issues
Sexual Abuse
Self Harm / Suicidal Ideations
Weight Reduction
Work Related Stress

As a therapist I work with adults, children and young people and believe that every person is unique as a result the approach to treatment is tailored to each individuals specific needs and my training as a Psychologist allows me the flexibility to draw on a wide range of psychological theories and practice a range of therapeutic models as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy where it is deemed necessary such as Mindfulness Based Approaches.

My aim within therapy is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable to discuss the problems and challenges that you are experiencing, goals and aspirations for the future and your thoughts, feelings and behaviours attached to these.

Appointments can normally be arranged at fairly short notice and can be made at times that suit your schedule. I am also now able to offer video and telephone sessions.
