Dr Samantha Blackburn DClinPsyc, HCPC Chartered Clinical Psychologist
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist specialising in anxiety, trauma and managing difficult emotions (emotional regulation). I have worked in the NHS for over 6 years predominately with adults with long standing difficulties.
I am trained in a number of different evidence based methods of therapy including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and MBCT. I also work with Acceptance Based Therapy (ACT) principles, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT). The approach we will use will depend on your presenting difficulties and the type of therapy you are looking for. We can discuss this on the telephone and in your initial appointment.
I also work as a part time Level 2 British Triathlon Coach, meaning that it is healthy minds and bodies that are my main focus and passion. I have found that a number of the psychological principles I use in mental health settings are also helpful for those wishing to think about sports or other areas of performance. I am able to work with individuals, teams or organisations to think about these things further.
Please visit my website to find out more about how I work and client groups I provide for: www.samblackburnpsychology.com, or contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your current needs further and make an appointment.
