About me

Hello.
Hi. My name is Sally and I am a professionally qualified experienced Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. I offer a calm, empathic, supportive space in which individuals, couples, and children can explore issues in confidence and at a pace that matches and respects their needs.

I am currently taking new clients and can offer face to face, zoom, telephone, or walk and talk therapy sessions.

My office is in beautiful National Trust surroundings and is very calm and serene.

I provide face to face therapy at my office where there is plenty of free parking and  a confidential environment which is Covid Secure.

I provide online/telephone counselling  via a secure video platform. This enables you to access therapy in a place that feels safe and convenient for you. I believe that it is just as effective as therapy in person and that there are many additional advantages such as:

You are not restricted by location.

You can choose the right therapist for you, rather than having to base your choice on them being geographically close.

Therapists who work online are often able to offer more flexibility in appointment times (early mornings or evenings for example).

Accessing therapy from your home means you can be comfortable in your own surroundings with no need to travel to a counsellor’s premises.

Physical disabilities or psychological difficulties are no barrier to you getting the support you need.

You may feel safer to talk and more at ease, when in your own home.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me for more details

I also offer Walk and Talk therapy inNational Trust  beautiful surrounding.

I work with individuals, couples, groups, children and organisations.

The approach I use is referred to as Integrative and I aim to tailor my work to meet the needs and personality of the individual.

I also have training in Creative Therapy and Play Therapy.

Creative therapy is a different approach to counselling and psychotherapy.

Where 'talking therapies' may sometimes feel too challenging, working through art and the imagination can offer a new dimension. With creative therapy, there is no pressure to find the exact words to convey a feeling and it is not necessary to talk in detail about difficult or painful experiences - an image can 'speak' for you.

Creative therapy uses images - in art, clay, sound, sand, or just the images inside your own head to help me understand your inner world and experience. Some sessions may be spent talking and listening and whether to use any creative media is always YOUR choice.

It is not necessary to be artistic in any technical sense - we all have a creative side, but have often not been encouraged to use this in our everyday lives. Creative therapy offers a safe space to explore feelings in a creative way.

Creative therapy is suitable for adults and children, both individually and in groups

I have experience of working with a variety of issues including: abuse, addiction(s), depression, Couple Counselling, bereavement counselling, PTSD, self-harm, trauma, child related issues, eating disorders, general counselling, and domestic issues.

As I have over 25 years teaching experience in primary schools, College and University education, I have a special interest in Children and Young People.

I also practice Play Therapy which offers Children and Young People a safe and nurturing enviroment by using a variety of play materials e.g. books, painting, drawing, and sandplay.

I work short or long term.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
