About me

Relationships: couples and individuals and bereavement and loss are my main therapeutic areas of practice.

So, you have taken that first difficult step...to seek therapeutic support...that takes great courage. I am an 'Integrative' therapist for couples and individuals within a couple. However, relationship problems can be with family, friends, work colleagues or even a difficult relationship with yourself. The other area I specialise in is bereavement and loss (loss of all kinds). I also work with a whole range of emotional concerns.

I offer an initial free of charge and obligation 30 minute consultation to help you in your therapist search. At that appointment, you can tell me a little more about your situation and ask me any questions that will help you make your decision. I will give you some information to take away to think about and you can contact me if you choose to go ahead and book some sessions. It is really important to find the right therapist for you.

I choose to work face to face but there are occasions, such as illness or travel, where online or telephone can be arranged.

You are not alone:

There are points in our lives when we all have personal pain, difficulties or challenging life situations. At these times, it can feel as though we are in a lonely and desperate place. Whilst we are immersed in our worries, it can be impossible to see that not only do we have our own power to overcome our problems, we can actually also learn and grow from these experiences. Troubled relationships can sometimes also be an opportunity to take your relationship in another direction or to another level.

My clients and couples come from all walks of life and although there are common themes in terms of their problems, I treat each client's situation as completely unique. The key areas of emotional difficulty that I work with are:

  • Couples and Individuals - Relationship issues
  • Bereavement and Loss
  • Emotional pain from the past or present
  • Life crisis/decisions/'stuck' and unable to move forward
  • Personal or 'spiritual' development at various life junctions.

No matter what problems you are experiencing, you are not alone; there are others who feel or have felt as you do and with the right support and guidance you CAN work to overcome your difficulties, transform your situation and better enrich your life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
