Counselling is an opportunity to explore your situation in a safe non-judgement environment; offering this I also provide you space to reflect on your current situation with an aim to gain new insight. Bringing fresh awareness gives you the chance to refocus on what is important for you and allows you to make decisions and choices in your life, this in turn creates a feeling of being re-energised. I do not have a set formula to the way I work which is tailored to your requirement; I am therefore led by your needs and wants based on a realistic outcome.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a diploma with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor; this means I can offer different theories to help aid and support change.
For a number of years I have volunteered with Cruse offering clients the support they need at a time when someone dies. I have also worked with The Olive Tree whose aim is to enable clients diagnosed with cancer to see things more clearly, take control of their life and even discover new strengths and resources from within.
Areas of counselling I deal with
- Anger management
- Domestic violence
- Emotional abuse
- Feeling sad
- Learning difficulties
- Low self-confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Physical abuse
- Postnatal depression
- Relationship issues
I believe finding the right counsellor is an essential factor in ensuring you achieve the outcome you strive for, therefore I offer an initial 20-30 minute assessment which is free of charge and allows us to explore your aims and whether I am the right counsellor for you. Once a contract has been agreed I charge £40 for each 50 minute session. I can offer a limited number of concessional rates based on a review of your circumstances if currently unemployed.
