Profile
I offer a welcoming, confidential and safe environment, my approach is down to earth and is informed by personal life experience, training and professional development.
I am a grounded, intuitive and compassionate person, and I am respectful of you at all times and the issues you bring to our sessions together. It is always my intention that you feel able to share with me and feel listened to without judgement, whilst experiencing being valued and affirmed.
I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and psychotherapy (MBACP Accred), thus ensuring my practice is not only of a significantly high level of competency but both ethical and professional at all times.
Having previously worked with Cruse Bereavement Care and Mind (mental health issues), I have gained extensive experience in both these key areas. This coupled with my counselling work in private practice has led me to successfully work with both male and female clients of all ages presenting with a diverse range of issues. I am very adaptable and open to working in whatever way is appropriate to you as my client.
I have a strong belief in the power of therapeutic counselling to impact positively on my clients personal and professional life. Counselling can be very empowering and I always feel a great sense of humility in witnessing clients gaining or rediscovering their own empowerment.
My counselling style is humanistic and person-centred, which reflects my belief that each person is a unique individual and that given the right conditions we each have the potential to grow and develop and move forward in our own unique way. I believe the best way to help you do this is by offering a professional relationship in which you feel supported, valued and understood, thus enabling you to tap into your own strengths and resources. This in turn can offer you new perspectives and further knowledge about who you really are as an individual. Over a period of time, it can also release potential in you to discover greater balance, creativity and increased self-worth. I am also very solution focused in my practice and can work with you to explore practical methods to cope with the every day stresses you face, for instance with relationships and situations at home or at work.
