About me

I regret that I am only able to accept self- funding referrals for the foreseeable future.  Integrative Psychotherapist in private practice running clinics in Clapham, for City & West Psychology - lead psychotherapist for the IBA Development Team and Mental Health & Wellbeing Director at Patterns of the Mind.

Providing talking therapy that is effective, practical and giving sustainable solutions that change people's lives. I am an integrative therapist - qualified in Rational-Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (RE-CBT) since 2014 and final year trainee Counselling Psychologist. Holding dual accreditation with the BABCP & AREBT, I abide by the codes of ethics designated by the BPS & HCPC. Any queries are welcome, please feel free to contact me to discuss further.

Using a holistic approach to wellbeing based on the ancient philosophy of the '4 Rooms' necessary to regain balance in ones life, I offer tailored therapy to meet each client's different needs. My core practice is RE-CBT but treatments can be provided to include Psychodynamic and Counselling interventions. With extensive experience, I treat issues such as anxiety disorders, depression & low mood, emotional distress, trauma, self-esteem & personal growth, relationship problems and painful life events - helping clients to increase their wellbeing, resilience and self-understanding.

Working in close partnership with Birmingham City University for the IBA Development Team, we have built a novel, sophisticated and holistic approach to understanding human behaviour called Intelligent Behaviour Analytics (IBA). Taught at MSc level, the IBA framework enables individuals to explore their Concept of Self in a meaningful way which is unique to them. It is based on the idea that developing an enhanced level of self-understanding provides significant value for individuals both in their professional and personal lives, individually or within a team.

Alongside my clinics, I am able to offer expert reports for clients needing evidence of their mental health that may pertain to legal issues they are involved in. Proficient in cases requiring evidence for employment, academic studies, asylum, road traffic accidents and other matters for the courts as well.

Expectations of therapy:

You can expect to improve your self-understanding, learn to use effective strategies, and promote positive change in your life leading to increased wellbeing. Whilst therapy can be challenging it is worth the effort. I will support you, work alongside you and help you to make yourself a priority again.

Treatment plans can be short to long-term, face-to-face, online or telephone. Sessions are usually provided weekly, running 50 minutes long however these arrangements can be flexible depending on your personal requirements and situation. Our therapy typically focusses on your present difficulties, where we work collaboratively towards your treatment goals. I typically work with adults however, I may consider under-18 queries, on a case-by-case basis.

If the structure of CBT is too daunting or simply not appropriate and you just need a space to open up and talk about things, then of course this can be provided. Often clients find the role of earlier life experiences including childhood and developmental factors, play a role in their current problems, so we may agree to also explore these areas if it will help to bring further clarity.

Depending upon the challenges facing you, you will also have the option to experience the IBA framework with me. Ask for further information if you want to read more about the outcomes individuals have achieved using IBA.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked as a CBT therapist in the NHS from 2014-2023, whilst also running my private practice clinics for adults and couples which is now my main focus alongside my research role.

I qualified from London Metropolitan University (BSc Psychology) in 2008, and my therapy training then started in 2010 which included person-centred counselling and psychodynamic therapy. Next, I qualified from Goldsmiths University in 2014 (MSc Rational-Emotive Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), and I am currently training at University of East London completing my final year Doctoral programme training as a Counselling Psychologist.

My clinical training has been undertaken with services supporting clients with specialist problems such as eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, asylum seekers and refugees, as well as working within Primary Care talking therapies in the NHS and at Kings College London University managing risk for their student services.

My dual accreditation is with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP reg no. 150206) and the Association for Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (AREBT reg no. 448), whilst I hold membership with the British Psychological Society (BPS reg no 157428).
