About me

If you are looking for professional and friendly help with managing difficulties in your life then perhaps I can help. My name is Ruth Roberts. I am an accredited and registered counsellor and I offer one-to-one counselling and mindfulness groups in Norwich and South Norfolk. I am passionate about helping people deal with the many challenges of life and have been working with clients for the last twelve years to do this. I offer a confidential, supportive and proactive approach to problems and emotional difficulties. If you think I might be able to help, then do please get in touch for a chat.

My counselling and supervision practice is based on putting the client at the centre of the work. This means that I work with clients in a focussed and in-depth way to mutually find a way through difficulties. In counselling speak, I use a pluralistic in approach with a strong emphasis on mindfulness as well as the Person Centred and Experiential approaches to counselling. I also have training in using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and particular training in working with Eating Disorders. A large part of my counselling work to date, has been in helping young people deal with emotional challenges of academic and educational life and with developing a sense of self at times of transition and change.

I have experience of working with a large spectrum of difficulties including anxiety, low mood and low self-esteem. Other issues that clients bring to counselling with me include bereavement, eating disorders, self-harm, abuse and relationship problems.

If you are a 6th form, college or university student looking for help with issues such anxiety, stress, procrastination or perfectionism then I can help you address your problems.
