About me
Just the fast pace of life can be enough sometimes to cause even the most competent person to struggle or feel like they are unable to cope.
As a Chartered and HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist I can tailor different therapies to suit your individual needs or work predominantly in one domain, for example, CBT. I offer a safe space to explore and work through problems towards resolve. I teach additional coping strategies, new perspective, self-awareness, to enable you to work towards reaching your full potential.
I have seen many people get well and experience renewed energy, direction and purpose in life. My expertise includes CBT, psychodynamic, person centred, Eye Movement Desensitisaion Reprocessing (EMDR).
I work with low mood, depression, anxiety, traumas and trauma related problems (including PTSD and phobias), OCD, addictions, work stress, relationship difficulties and many mental health issues.
I can offer appointments in Copthorne during the week day and some early evenings. I can work with adults, and teenagers from 15 years plus.
Training, qualifications & experience
As a Chartered and Counselling Psychologist my qualification include a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology (DPsych). I have Chartered Status, affiliation and Accrediation (CPsychol) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). In addition to Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). I also have a MSc in Research Methods in Psychology and a BSc Hons in Psychology.
I work solely work in Private Practice, which enables me to offer the clients flexibility around their diary and personal needs.
In addition, I have past experience in NHS Secondary Care Services, including Specialist services. Hospital settings (specialising in sleep problems and trauma). I also have experience working for The Priory and several charities in substance misuse.
As well as expertise in Cognive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other therapies, I am an accredited EMDR therapist and a regional committee member of the EMDR Association UK and Europe. I am also a BPS trained Expert Witness and Clinical Supervisor. I am registered with several insurance companies, including AXA-PPP, BUPA, Cigna, Aviva and PruHealth to name a few.

Additional information
The first session is an assessment and lasts up to 90 minutes and costs £230 for private individuals. Sesssions thereafter are 50 minutes and costs £135 for private individuals. For insurance companies duration and costs vary. For reports, the price is on an individual basis, as it depends on the nature of the report and depth of information required.
