About me

Life can be tough and overwhelming at times and we can get downtrodden and exhausted by it all. Even though we are passed the pandemic there are so very many more pressures and stresses, whether they be emotional, practical or financial.  Everyone needs help now and then and it can feel really scary to ask for it, but the alternative is to remain isolated and alone. Speaking to a therapist can be an opportunity to clear your mind, alleviate your anxiety and find a way forward. It gives you the chance to talk about things that have been bottled up which family or friends may find difficult to hear.

I offer a safe and non-judgmental space to give you the confidence to talk about what is worrying you. Reflecting on your experiences can really help you make effective changes so your life feels more manageable and fulfilled. It’s not about opening old wounds, but actually about healing them.

I know money can be a real issue right now and because I believe counselling should be available to everyone I'm happy to offer reduced rates if that would help.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working in the mental health and community support field for more than eighteen years.

I currently work behind the scenes as a therapist on ITV's This Morning programme and also as a counsellor for the University of Northampton. I have spent twelve years as a bereavement counsellor, supporting people through the loss of loved ones.

For a number of years I was a therapeutic manager for the charity Maytree, a residential sanctuary in North London for people in suicidal crisis. I have a great deal of experience working with people in the depths of their despair and hopelessness.

Over the past eighteen years I have worked extensively as a mediator with both young people and their parents at Herts Young Homeless, in communities, the workplace and for schools at Mediation Herts. I also lead nationwide school talks and workshops in sexual health and peer support with a Harley Street practice.

I hold a BSc in Mathematics and Psychology from the University of London and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic & Humanistic Therapy (BACP Accredited) from the University of Hertfordshire. I have lectured in Counselling Skills at Milton Keynes College.
