Hello my name is Ross and I'm a BACP registered Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
I work from a discreet office in the city centre where I offer one to one and online counselling to the general public. I currently work with a number of organisations such as the mental health charity Mind and have experience as a psychological practitioner for both the NHS and also within private practice.
As well as helping people over come anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties I also deal with Anger issues and offer Anger Management counselling. I have a deep interest in Mindfulness and I coach basic techniques that can help halt internal chatter, offer relief from over thinking and reduce the symptoms of anxiety.
I currently work both short and long term and can offer flexibility in my approach to meet your individual needs and budget. We all have the resources, capacity and strength to change but sometimes we need a little help along the way.
Thank you for taking time look over my profile. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have about me or my service.

"I am really happy with the outcome of my sessions with Ross and would highly recommend him as a counsellor. Prior to meeting with Ross I had several issues affecting my work and social life. His guidance has enabled me to understand and identify what I need to do to re-shape my life to achieve what I want and establish a more positive me. He has been non-judgemental, patient and helpful throughout. I can't thank him enough."

"Counselling was a whole new world for me and once I had taken the decision to try it Ross soon became the obvious choice. From reading his profile I knew he was someone I could relate to and potentially open up to. From the first session i felt at ease and in a safe environment to talk. My time with Ross was an invaluable investment in my mental health. It gave me answers to questions I never thought I would understand and i now feel lighter. The weight of not understanding why I was feeling the way I did was a huge burden. I now have the understanding and coping mechanisms to deal with the past and the present. If you are considering counselling and feel scared or unsure if its for you take the step and make an appointment!"

"I went to see Ross after I was referred to an NHS counsellor I didn’t feel comfortable with so decided to go private instead. This turned out to be an excellent decision as he was a great help to me. I found Ross to be patient and insightful without ever prying too much and very able to create a relaxing atmosphere. Whereas my previous counsellor was far too blunt for me, Ross had a far more tactful approach; more encouraging me to talk about things of my own volition rather than directly asking. This was a much more effective way of putting my mind at ease in a situation that can often be awkward and nerve wracking especially at first.”
