About me

Do you feel no-one understands you, or listens to you? Are you struggling with relationships, anxiety, family issues ?

Have you felt alone or stuck in your life?  Maybe past events are affecting you?

I can help you explore upsets and difficulties which will enable you to feel more in control of your life, and more confident to make decisions and positive life choices.

Many people find it extremely helpful to talk to someone who is outside their family and friendship group.  Sharing what is going on for you and how you feel can help you understand any unhelpful patterns in your life.

I offer a safe and confidential place where you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, issues, worries or if you are stuck over a decision. I work with couples, with individuals, with parents.

You can bring any issue - relationships, couple counselling, anxiety, confidence and self worth, loneliness, separation, divorce, intimacy, loss, family concerns, parental issues, stress - work and personal, weight worries, disorderly eating, sexuality, abuse, anger, depression, life changes, work issues, racism.

I specialise in - working with those who feel emotionally damaged by having been sent away to boarding school [privileged abandonment and normalised neglect], and also in helping parents by offering them a Parents' Toolbox - with similar skills to a super nanny!

I have 25 years counselling experience. I am a Supervisor and accredited Parent Specialist

I am currently offering online sessions

My working days are Monday mornings, Wednesdays and Thursday afternoons - daytime

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
