About me

Ways of Being Ltd - https://www.waysofbeingyou.com

I am a senior supervisor and experienced psychotherapist. My modality is Transactional Analysis. I believe in developing a meaningful relationship with clients that will create a creative psychological space for you to make the changes you want in your life.

I work indoors and outdoors. As my practice is based in Tycanol Woods - we can discover more about and deepen your process through a relationship with the environment. This can be especially effective if you have experienced trauma.

Transactional Analysis Cymru Ltd - https://tacymru.co.uk

I run an institute registered with the UKCP for counselling and psychotherapy training. This is a four-year in depth professional training using Transactional Analysis as the main modality. Like my psychotherapy practice we work indoors and outdoors.

What is supervision?
A professional relationship between two people created to support their work with others.
This relationship may become a deeply personal and trusting one and there is often an element of personal growth involved. However, the focus is on the understanding, clarification and exploration of the supervisee's work, clinical practice, or professional learning.
I am experienced in working with trainees who are just starting out and clinicians in full time practice and a variety of fields.

What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is the in depth exploration of your self. We will develop a meaningful relationship and through different ways of working, I will help you to unpick the elements in your story that are hindering you coming into your full potential .

I also work with couples and groups.

About Me:

I am an experienced supervisor, psychotherapist and trainer qualified to practice, supervise and teach Transactional Analysis psychotherapy.
I supervise trainees on placement at 'The UK Counselling Network' as well has having a full time private practice.
I hold an MSc in psychotherapy with Middlesex University.
I am a practicing registered member of the UKCP www.psychotherapy.org.uk.
I am a professional member of UKATA www.uktransactionalanalysis.co.uk, EATA and ITAA.

I have also worked professionally as a teacher, artist and performer and my experience in these careers greatly benefits me in my work as a practitioner. In this capacity, I have supported people for many years with issues of self-esteem through exploring their creativity, through storytelling, image-making, poetry, movement and music.
I continue to use these creative techniques in my therapeutic work.
For example; sand-tray, symbols, drawing, poetry and walking in nature.

I am competent to work with experiences and behaviours you might have that include:
Grief, Addiction, Obsessive Behaviour, Trauma, Depression, Neurodivergence,
Anxiety Disorder, Relationships, Issues with Food, Stress or Low Self-esteem.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I currently run a closed group on alternate Thursdays. I have been approached by clients and asked to start a new group. Please get in touch with me if you would be interested.

I am considering beginning a new therapy group for women only. Please contact me if you are interested.

Group therapy is a rewarding and valuable process of self discovery. Though one:one therapy can support the individual in an intimate and safe environment, group work allows greater possibility for rewriting negative beliefs with the support and care of peers. It is especially beneficial for people who have found early family life challenging.
