About me

I offer sessions online or on the phone. This is a particularly challenging time for those suffering with anxiety, loss and stress.

Taking the first step, sometimes, can feel like a huge mountain to climb. I can understand that.

I know that having a private and confidential space, free of judgement can help you achieve those first steps. Together, we can explore what the challenges are and how they impact your life and your relationships, be they personal, professional or romantic relationships.

I am available on weekday evenings and practice in Ealing - my practice is located within walking distance of public transport. There is also free parking nearby after 6pm. Currently I do not offer face-to-face sessions.

I offer short-term and open-ended therapy as I understand that for some people an initial phase of therapy may be enough.

For those clients who want to explore their lives in further depth, relational therapy can promote insight and enable changes, to achieve more awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, enabling autonomy and empowerment to promote the changes you desire in your life.

For those clients who may want to understand how their current difficulties were developed and are maintained, as well as learning ways to manage those difficulties so their lives are less impacted by them, I offer the option of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a therapeutic approach.

What to expect in our first session?

The first session is an opportunity to meet up and start exploring the reasons that brought you to therapy.

In this session we can also discuss how I work and what your expectations and concerns are about being in therapy.

I believe and respect that each client is unique. We can work to establish how therapy can help you and agree an appropriate schedule of appointments.

How does therapy work?

Counselling and psychotherapy can help if you are feeling depressed or bereft, suffering from trauma, anxiety or stress, going through emotional or relational difficulties or maybe just looking at ways to move forward and live life to the full.

Talking about personal difficulties can be painful - I respect that and am guided by your pace.

I work with two different approaches: Relational Transactional Analysis which builds a therapeutic relationship between client and therapist and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which aims to understand the origins, maintenance and impact of the current difficulty and ways to reduce such impact to manageable levels.

I offer support in understanding yourself and your behaviour in relation to others.

Confidentiality, mutual respect and freedom from judgement are some of the values I believe to be important to therapy - I take these responsibilities seriously in my practice.

I abide by the UKCP and BABCP Codes of Ethics and I am DBS checked.

I can offer therapy in English and Portuguese.
