Are you looking for a safe, unpressured place where you can express and address what seems to be wrong in your life?
I offer a confidential and compassionate space in which a client, with my support and at their own pace, can explore and deepen their understanding of themselves: their emotions, feelings, thoughts, beliefs and relationships.
My approach comes from a training in Core Process psychotherapy, which draws from classic and modern western psychological theory as well as from aspects of Buddhist philosophy, including mindfulness.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have an MA from Edinburgh University and a Diploma in Core Process Psychotherapy from the Karuna Institute; I have also completed Karuna's four-year MA training. For a number of years I have been seeing clients in Exeter, within the NHS and at the Margaret Jackson Centre, as well as in my private practice in West Devon.
In earlier life I have taught adults and children, at home and abroad, and have also worked with young offenders. I have a medical husband and a grown-up son and daughter.

Your initial appointment
When you contact me we can arrange an initial appointment, which is free. This is normally a conversation about your particular needs, an introduction to the way we would work together, and an opportunity for you to ask questions.
My standard fee is £30 per hour-long session. Concessions are sometimes available; I also reserve some time-slots for low-cost therapy - please feel free to enquire about this if it feels relevant to you.
I offer some early evening sessions as well as day-time ones.
