Roma Norton MA, MBACP
48 Redlands Road
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and am guided by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have broad clinical experience including the NHS and voluntary sector as well as a well-established private practice. Additionally I have taken further training and work as a clinical supervisor within a number of counselling and psychotherapy services.
Contact me if you are looking for a confidential and professional space in which to address things which are troubling you. My private practice is in central Reading with plenty of free parking on site.
It's not always easy or possible to talk to friends or family about the way we feel about things, or events which have impacted us. There can be points in our lives when things get especially difficult or where relationships are problematic. Making an appointment with me can be the start of changing this.
How can I help?
I work with a wide range of difficulties and with long and short term therapy. My core approach is psychodynamic. I provide a confidential environment where you can begin to explore things more deeply and understand things better. This approach includes becoming more aware of the less conscious areas of our thinking which may emerge in feelings of: anxiety - anger - low - stuckness - loss of control - powerlessness - numb or 'not me' feelings. These can begin the process of gaining relief and to start to move forward.
What happens next?
You can contact me by telephone or by email. We will arrange an initial meeting but you don't need to decide anything at this point. It will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions, and for us to discuss your requirements.
I work day-time and evenings, Monday to Friday.
