About me

Hello,
My name is Robin and I have a Counselling practice in the village of Cherry Willingham just outside Lincoln. I am pleased to be able to offer face to face and online appointments.

If you are going through a difficult time in your life, looking for a supportive person to talk to, or better understand your experiences, then counselling could be for you. If you have difficulty expressing emotional concerns or identifying issues that are causing you anxious sleepless nights then talking to someone who will not judge you in a completely confidential atmosphere may be for you.

If you are a man, sometimes it`s difficult to admit to anyone that you even have a problem, but complete confidentiality is guaranteed. You don`t need to suffer in silence.

I specialise in helping the uniformed services, (military, police, paramedics, fire etc) with their issues - particularly trauma.

I understand, having experience of crisis counselling, how important an individuals problems are and how everyone is different. Talking to someone who is not a friend, colleague or a relative can make every difference.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and operate within their ethical framework. I also have regular Supervision to oversee my work.

Training, qualifications & experience

AQA Advanced Certificate in Counselling
AQA Advanced Diploma in Counselling
AQA Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level 4

Experienced in one to one counselling for problems including Anxiety and Stress, Relationship and Family issues, Bereavement, Low self-esteem/Lack of confidence, Anger Management, Abuse/trauma and Self-harm issues.

As an ex member of the Armed Services myself I have experience of the problems that can face serving and ex members and I am trained in Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD) as well as Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) which can be very effective for PTSD.

IEMT also works extremely well for phobias - usually only one session is needed to combat fear of flying, spiders etc.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
