About me

Hello, I'm a Manchester-based counsellor, holding an MSc with distinction in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am dedicated to providing a confidential, safe, and supportive environment where you can share your deepest thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or criticism. Whether you're struggling with day-to-day stresses, significant life changes, relationship issues, loss and bereavement, or other concerns, I'm here to offer you the empathy, understanding, and professional support you deserve to get you through this difficult time in your life.

Empathy at the Heart of Therapy

I understand reaching out for help can be daunting. That's why I prioritize creating a space where you can feel truly heard and accepted. Together, we can explore your experiences, fears, and hopes at your own pace. My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique journey towards well-being.

My expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of issues, from anxiety, stress, and relationship problems to more specialized areas such as loss and bereavement, self-harm, and counselling for men. I'm particularly skilled in helping individuals navigate the complexities of their identities and relationships, offering insights and reflections that resonate with their personal experiences.

How Can I Help You?

Therapy is a powerful tool for change. Many of my clients begin to see positive shifts within 3-6 sessions, though I'm committed to supporting you for as long as you need. Utilizing an NHS-approved assessment tool rather than guess work, I ensure our sessions contribute to your overall well-being, functioning, and symptom relief by assessing and reviewing as we progress. My goal is for you to emerge from therapy feeling more confident, fulfilled, and equipped to face life's challenges. And if I can't help you, I will be honest and work with you to refer you to a more suitable therapist or service.

Your Journey, Your Pace

Sessions are offered both face-to-face in central Manchester and remotely, accommodating your lifestyle and preferences. My therapy room is accessible via stairs or a lift, with alternative arrangements available for those with physical challenges. I strive to provide flexible scheduling options, including daytime and evening appointments.

Get in touch!

The best way to reach me is via email or WhatsApp text message. We can discuss the basics and decide on the best course of action, whether that be booking a full assessment session or a brief introductory call or drop in visit at the office!

Investing in Your Well-being

I believe in transparent and fair pricing, with sessions ranging from £60-£80 depending on your budget. There are no ongoing subscription fees, you only pay per session rather than paying a monthly fee for a service you may not use, and sessions are a full hour. We can discuss the details and any concerns you might have during our initial contact.  You can either book a full assessment session (one hour) which is paid for, or arrange a free 15 minute meeting in person or via phone to discuss your needs.

Your Next Step

If you feel drawn to my approach and believe I could help, please don't hesitate to reach out. Send me an email today, and let's start a conversation about how we can work together towards a brighter, more fulfilling future. Your journey towards healing and growth is just an email away! One thing many of my clients have said is along the lines of "This is life changing stuff!" It could be your life that changes next!

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

I offer kink aware counselling in Manchester city centre. I am LGBT and GSM affirmative and also welcome clients from the kink/BDSM and poly communities. I am affirming of sexual and gender minorities and alternative sexual lifestyles and practices such as polyamory, kink, swinging etc. If you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, polysexual, asexual, genderqueer, trans, kinky or other, I will not pathologise you or try to change who you are.  I am a sex positive therapist and also sex worker positive, believing that all adult informed consensual expressions of sexuality are legitimate despite often not being accepted by mainstream society and policy.

I also have an interest in psychedelic integration and transpersonal psychology.  I am very curious about people's transcendent and "peak" experiences and non-ordinary states of consciousness, which may be enhanced or initiated with the use of entheogens or other psychedelic substances (as well as through other means, such as meditation, or sometimes they are just "gifted"!).  Although I do not condone the use of illegal drugs (and certainly do not/cannot provide any!), I am committed to sensible discussion and harm reduction - and if people have happened to use psychedelics or other drugs in countries where they are legal, or are planning to do so (for example attending a mushroom or ayahuasca retreat) I am willing and able through my own experience and knowledge to support and help people with such matters.
