Richard Parrott, BA (Hons), Dip Couns, Registered MBACP.
Hello. I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist with a practice in Leyton.
'Integrative' means that I have been trained in a number of different theoretical approaches and draw upon these, together with my experience and creativity, to tailor an approach that fits with your individual needs.
I offer an authentic, confidential, non-judgemental and respectful space where you can feel safe to share and explore what is concerning you.
I have experience in working with clients presenting with a number of issues including: bereavement; relationship issues; anxiety; stress; depression; anger; dissociation; childhood sexual abuse; adjustments to a major change in life and self esteem issues.
I am happy to work in both a time-limited, focused way or on a longer term, open-ended basis.
I appreciate that the first forays into the world of counselling and psychotherapy can be daunting and confusing. There's a vast array of qualifications, specialisms and approaches that therapists adopt and depending on where you look and where we've trained you'll read about psychotherapists, counsellors, psychoanalysts, behavioural therapists, psychologists, clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, life coaches, hypnotherapists....I know I've left a lot out... It really is endless!
Therefore, if you are interested in starting counselling, or are just taking your first steps, please get in touch and I'll do my utmost to explain how I understand the process and try to help you find the right support.
