About me

I am a fully qualified and BACP registered integrative counsellor, with many years of experience working with individuals and groups. I am a professional therapist working in private practice within London and the Norwich area. I have 10yrs experience in the delivery of clinical supervision for the palliative care team, inpatient and community teams in London NHS hospitals eg: Guy's & St Thomas hospital and other trust. I am able to deliver supervision both counselling supervision and Clinical supervision within the NHS and other health care providers . I can provide group session and 1:1 clinical supervision for nursing and medical professionals in the NHS and voluntary sector.

I have many year's of experience in the delivery of group work shops, educational and development training days for teams and management teams in a number of different subject areas including resilience and team build.

I also have over 18 years experience of working with addiction both individual and running community based recovery and support focused groups.

I undertake both long term and short term therapy. I practice from an integrative and inter-subjective process and strongly believe that the essential part of counselling is to offer a safe environment and a non-judgemental relationship. The process of the relationship is to create a safe and nurturing space in which to work from. I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, health related issues, relationships, work related stress/burnout, bereavement, addiction and many others presenting issues. I integrate my many years of working and use this to understand ourselves in relation to our world around us.

I believe that every person is unique, and the counselling relationship is unique. As an integrative counsellor I am able to use the relational model of counselling and also draw from other models and theories when needed, meeting the needs of my individual clients.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
