“No one has ever listened to me like that… I never felt judged, which was important, because I’ve always felt like I was to blame…” – (Maidenhead Client).
I provide a safe, secure, supportive environment for you to be heard. Whatever the nature of your distress, I will listen to you with kindness, acceptance and empathy. My aim is to understand you, in an environment that is free of judgment. As a client-centred counsellor I believe you possess within you the resources to disentangle your distress, and my role as therapist, is to help to facilitate this.
“I felt like I was drowning, our sessions allowed me to breathe on a weekly basis… you helped me make sense of my chaotic relationships... I thank you deeply”. – (Windsor Client)
My understanding of distress comes not only through academic study, but also from personal life experience. I have sat in both the client and counsellor's chair. I believe that my personal life experience can enhance my ability to empathise with you, and gain a true understanding of how you feel.
Perhaps therapy is something you have been contemplating for a while. Maybe you have been, 'brushing things under the carpet', or 'walking on eggshells' within a relationship. Therapy can provide the opportunity to take an honest look at what is going on, and to explore these issues at depth.
Please visit my website (etoncounselling.co.uk) or call, to find out more about working together.
