In just a few sessions of coaching or therapy - on average 4-6 sessions - I can help you overcome debilitating symptoms. These include stress, low self-esteem, sleep problems, burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, anger or addictive behaviour, as well as any work/school related problems, such as performance anxiety.
This is a strengths based approach. We do not need to dredge up every detail of your past but will focus on patterns of 'stuckness'. By overcoming obstacles that stop you from growing, and developing your innate resources and skills - such as strategies to calm down, reduce the flow of negative thinking, improve communication skills - you will be able to re-access your natural capacity for mental health and to thrive.
I work with children, adolescents and adults, and have a lot of experience with school- and workplace related difficulties.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a background in TV and education and have been a Human Givens practitioner since 2003; I co-founded Human Givens in the Netherlands in 2008.
I trained psychotherapists for 10 years, am a Human Givens supervisor, fellow of the HGI and have served as a member of the HGI board of directors.
The Human Givens Approach to Mental Health was accredited by the PSA in May 2016. It unifies the most effective forms of counselling and psychotherapy into a truly bio-psycho-social approach which incorporates the most effective therapeutic techniques, neuroscientific findings and newly-devised interventions, and focuses on achieving positive outcomes for clients as quickly as possible.
I have a particular interest and much experience working with creative people - often diagnosed with dyslexia, AD(H)D.
