About me

Welcome to my profile. Thank you for taking the time to explore the possibility of working together in therapy.I'm Becky Stone, an integrative therapist with 15 years of experience helping individuals like you navigate life's challenges and move forward on their journey to wellness.

As an integrative therapist, I have a diverse toolbox of therapeutic approaches and techniques at my disposal. This means that I can tailor our sessions to suit your unique needs, drawing from various modalities to create a personalized and effective treatment plan. What sets me apart as a therapist is my neurodiversity. Living with ADHD and dyslexia has given me a unique perspective and skill set that I bring to our sessions. I'm adept at spotting patterns, finding solutions, and helping you see things from different angles. Together, we can harness these strengths to unlock your full potential and build the best version of yourself.

I understand that finding the right therapist can be daunting, which is why I offer a free informal 20-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to get to know each other, discuss your goals for therapy, and see if we're a good fit.I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey towards healing and growth. Are you or someone you know struggling with an eating disorder? If so, you've come to the right place.  I specialise in working with individuals recovering from eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, and obesity. With a focus on supporting young people from the ages of 11 upwards, as well as adults, I offer a unique and specialised approach to eating disorder recovery.

I understand that seeking help for an eating disorder can be a daunting and courageous step. That's why I bring a combination of empathy, expertise, and personal experience to my practice. Having navigated my own journey with anorexia and binge eating disorder, I intimately understand the challenges and complexities of eating disorders, as well as the transformative power of therapy in recovery.

In our sessions, we'll work together to explore the underlying factors contributing to your eating disorder, challenge rigid beliefs and behaviours, and develop practical strategies for moving forward in recovery. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities, including counselling, coaching, and cognitive-behavioural techniques, to tailor our approach to your unique needs and preferences.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

In addition to my background as a counselor, I've pursued further training in life coaching to provide comprehensive support for individuals with dyslexia, ADHD, and eating disorders. This additional qualification equips me with specialized tools and strategies to empower my clients to overcome challenges and achieve their goals in a way that is tailored to their unique needs and strengths.

For individuals with dyslexia, ADHD, and eating disorders, traditional approaches to goal-setting and achievement may not always be effective. That's why I integrate principles of life coaching to help them identify realistic and achievable goals while honouring their individual abilities and challenges.

Through a combination of counselling and life coaching techniques, I work collaboratively with my clients to explore their aspirations, identify potential obstacles, and develop practical strategies for success. I understand the importance of finding coping mechanisms and tools that are sustainable and supportive, rather than setting unrealistic expectations that could lead to feelings of failure or frustration.

My goal is to empower my clients to embrace their strengths, navigate their challenges, and create a path forward that is both fulfilling and sustainable. Whether they're seeking to manage symptoms of ADHD, overcome barriers related to dyslexia, or heal from the complexities of an eating disorder, I'm here to provide guidance, support, and encouragement every step of the way.

By combining my expertise in counseling with specialized training in life coaching, I offer a holistic approach that addresses the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral aspects of my clients' experiences. Together, we can work towards creating a future that is defined by resilience, growth, and fulfillment. If you're ready to take the next step towards achieving your goals and living a life of purpose and meaning, I invite you to reach out. Let's embark on this journey together, building a roadmap for success that is rooted in compassion, understanding, and possibility.
