Dr Rebecca Start
The Therapy Suite
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I provide psychological assessment and evidence based treatment, drawing upon up-to-date research findings. I offer a range of therapeutic approaches, integrating these to be appropriate to individual needs. Within my work I draw upon the models of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT), mindfulness-based approaches, systemic therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). I work with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties that result from the pressures and daily demands of life or adverse life events, such as stress, depression and anxiety.
I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship and working in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. I adopt a person centred approach and aim to achieve the best possible outcomes using a variety of different treatment approaches, tailored to help people manage distress and improve mental health and well-being.
I offer confidential psychology assessment and therapy appointments in a private clinic in South Norfolk. The clinic in which I am based offers a quiet and containing space away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I appreciate that choosing to come to therapy can be a hard decision. An initial appointment is always offered as a way of understanding some of the difficulties you might be faced with and to discuss what support might be helpful to you. This also gives you the chance to learn more about what therapy might involve and whether you feel comfortable to continue. There are no obligations to continue following this first session.
I work within the strict ethical guidelines of both the HCPC and BPS and receive regular clinical supervision from a Chartered Psychologist in line with these practice guidelines.
Please do contact me if you would like to arrange an initial consultation, or if you have any questions.
Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked in a number of different settings and with a range of client groups including: children and families, looked after children, children and adults with learning disabilities, older adults and working aged adults. I am flexible in my approach, drawing upon a range of psychological theories and approaches to suit individuals’ needs, working in a collaborative way.

Standard appointment fee is £85 for 50 minutes.
I ask potential clients to attend a no-obligation initial consultation before they committing to regular appointments. This initial consultation will be an opportunity for us to meet, learn about your difficulties, agree some goals and better understand how therapy can help you move forward and meet your well-being needs as quickly as possible. Therapy will be tailored to your needs and where appropriate it can include specific psychological approaches such as Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, compassion-focused therapy and mindfulness. This first appointment can last up to 90 minutes and the fee is £120.
I see all clients at The Therapy Suite - a dedicated psychology service located within the private and tranquil grounds of Earsham Hall. There is ample free parking on site, and the tea rooms nearby offer a space to reflect either before or after your appointment.
I work with a small team of therapists and psychologists at The Therapy Suite, and our aim is to make it as easy as possible for clients to undertake psychological therapy. We believe that it is easier to start therapy if you feel reassured, comfortable and in an attractive environment. Therefore at The Therapy Suite we have highly qualified professionals, offering a range of therapies at a reasonable rate, within a setting that is inviting and comfortable, whilst reassuringly professional.
