About me

I offer short and longer term counselling in a quiet and confidential space five minutes walk from Brixton tube and mainline stations. I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I draw on my training and experience of a variety of different approaches to creatively work with you and the things you may want to address in your life.

I look to understand and support you as we explore your current situation, looking to the future as well as difficulties or patterns which may arise from your past. We may also explore more practical ways to help you manage day to day.

Counselling can help you build self-awareness, improving your self-esteem and confidence as well as supporting the process of recovery from difficult experiences and helping you to better cope with challenging feelings such as anger or grief.

Life can be complicated and sometimes we all need support to make changes to improve the quality of our lives, how we relate to others and how we relate to ourselves. Research has consistently shown that the effectiveness of therapy is rooted in the relationship between therapist and client and I work with this in mind.

The first session, for which there is a charge of £35, is usually an assessment at which we explore the issues you may want to look at in therapy and decide whether or not my services would be of help to you. If you decide you would like to book further appointments we will agree a regular time to meet, usually weekly. Sometimes a simple problem will take a few weeks for us to work through together, or you may feel that you want to work longer term to address more complex concerns in more depth.

If you have questions or would like to book an initial exploratory session please contact me via e-mail or phone and leave a message and I will get back to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an Advanced Diploma and MA in Integrative Psychotherapy as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the Minster Centre, London.
I also hold Counselling Studies CPCAB Foundation and Level 2 Certificates.
Before I came to counselling I worked as a Life Coach for which I hold an Advanced Diploma.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - the leading counselling and psychotherapy body in the UK - and I abide by their code of ethics and professional standards in line with which I have regular supervision.

I have worked in the NHS within the South London and Maudsley Trust, with short term clients and have also worked with longer term psychotherapy clients in two low-cost services as well as in my private practice. Through this work I have experience of working with a variety of issues and have particular experience in working with issues around parenting, the work place, and bereavement.

Some of my professional interests are:

  • Trauma and the body
  • Neuroscience research particularly relating to attachment, intersubjectivity, and early development
  • Creative and Reflective Writing and Psychotherapy

I have an active interest in the use of the arts in personal development, counselling and psychotherapy.
