Are you feeling anxious?
Do you feel restless ?
Do you feel like life is getting on top of you ?
Maybe you lack motivation or confidence .
Maybe you have been feeling down or depressed and are having feelings of not being able to cope with life.
Perhaps you feel dissatisfied with life and wonder what you could do to change things .
Maybe you are struggling in your relationships with your partner, family, friends or work colleagues.
What ever you present for counselling you can be reassured that you will be treated with respect in a warm and compassionate way . Counselling offers a space just for you, it is a unique experience where you will be able to feel free to express what issues are unsettling you or are causing you pain in your life.Counselling won't have all the answers and I will not tell you what you should do, but hopefully by providing the right conditions such as warmth , understanding and empathy you will become more and more empowered and able to look at your issues with more clarity and understanding .
The first session is free and you are under no obligation to continue if you feel that I am not suited to your needs. This will be very informal where we can get to know each other and to see if we are right for each other. If you need to talk to me either by phone or email or have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.
The first session will be about what you feel you would like to achieve with your time in therapy. So what issues are most pressing for you. You may feel that you only want one or two sessions or you may feel that you need six sessions and then you can always book more if you feel you need more it really is up to you.I have seen clients for one session and others for much longer.Sessions last for an hour and I have a comfortable room from my own home where I see clients.
I believe that everyone should have access to professional low cost counselling that is safe, effective and ethical. Many people try to access counselling through their GP but this can be problematic because often people have to wait weeks to be referred and then counsellors often can only offer six weeks at a time. It's hard enough plucking up the courage to ask for help so you don't want to have to wait to be seen.
Because I work from home I can keep my fees low. Please feel free to ask about reduced rates which I offer to the elderly, unemployed and students. You will be seen very quickly and will not have to wait weeks for an appointment.
Asking for help is not always easy. Making that first move to contact a therapist can be really hard and takes a great deal of personal strength and courage. Some people see counselling as a weakness and only for the vunerable, in my experience this couldn't be further from the truth. People who seek help are taking responsibility for their issues and are willing to tackle their problems and from their experiences of therapy often feel more self aware, mentally stronger with greater levels of confidence and self-esteem.
Training, qualifications & experience
After graduating in 2011 I worked in the voluntary sector working with people with a variety of issues including anxiety and depression. This time gave me a wealth of experience and knowledge and I loved the way clients would change and become empowered just by being listened to and understood. This has always been my way of working providing a space for people that feels safe and non threatening.
I work from home in private practice and also work in a voluntary organisation as a fully qualified counsellor.
I am also available to work in your own home if this suits you and this can be arranged if needed.
If you would like to talk to me please feel free to phone or email and we can discuss your needs . Leave a message with your name and telephone number and I will get back to you.
