About me

Hello, and welcome. I work with people experiencing many different issues and problems including anxiety, overwhelm and perfectionism.

Maybe you’re looking for help because you find yourself lying awake at night feeling worried and anxious? Perhaps you would like to make changes in your life, but you don’t know where to begin, or you’re afraid to get started because you don’t want to get it wrong? Or maybe it feels as if everything is just too much and your worries and concerns are affecting the way you live your life and your relationships?

I understand how very lonely and exhausting it is to feel anxious, stuck and overwhelmed. I have been there myself.

Talking can help. Having your feelings truly heard, understood and acknowledged by another person enables change to happen. I will listen to you and help you explore your thoughts and feelings so that you can begin to find your own sense of empowerment and agency to live your life in the way that you want to live it.

You will not be judged or criticised and we will gently meet your struggles together - with compassion and kindness. I can help you to explore your feelings, past experiences and relationships to gain a sense of what truly makes you you, so that you feel empowered to make your own choices and inhabit your space in the world more freely.

I work in a comfortable room in Shepperton, next to Shepperton station and can see you either in person or online. I also offer therapy outdoors in Bushy Park and along the Thames Path.

If you would like to find out more about therapy and what I can offer you, please do email me or give me a call to arrange a free 15 minute phone consultation to discuss your needs further.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
