About me

Are you wanting to feel more Empowered? If you're feeling anxious, depressed or unfulfilled reach out to us. With the right tools & support, we can all achieve positive change.

I’m an integrative therapeutic counsellor working with Transactional Analysis, CBT and Gestalt. I can also work creatively with you to bypass cognitive defences and work with your subconscious on a deeper level of exploration and bring about positive change.

I deeply attune to you & respond to your individual needs, shaping my therapeutic approach accordingly. I assist you in the learning of useful coping & self soothing techniques to help you to feel better in present.

I have a wealth of clinical experience having worked in both the public & private sectors and currently work as the lead therapist at 'Reach for Solace'.

At Reach for Solace we offer emotional support, counselling & psychotherapy
in a safe, caring environment with an experienced & qualified therapist to help you find your balance.

Therapy can help build awareness of yourself, help build self esteem, restore balance, enhance your relationships, improve your self image and your confidence.
Therapy can help to understand where your opinions and beliefs came from and how you came to be where you are now.

"If something eases your disappointment or grief, consider it a Solace"

If you are unsure if therapy is for you or you are feeling particularly anxious we can discuss this during your initial consultation.
In your initial session you will be able to discuss further what you can expect from therapy, we can find out more about you and what has brought you to us at Reach for Solace.

We provide a discreet service ensuring confidentiality & anonymity. Our service is not signposted as a counselling service ensuring discreet access & egress.

Our last appointment we offer is at 8 pm every evening and we offer Sunday appointments as we understand people lead busy lives.

Training, qualifications & experience

Qualifications I have obtained are:

Diploma in therapeutic Counselling at the only Accredited course in the North East- Northern Guild for Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I am a member of the BACP

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
