Therapy On Thames
Do you need to talk? If you feel distressed, anxious, depressed or stuck, counselling can help. Sometimes we need to talk to someone who will listen attentively and knows how to help us on the road to feeling better. I aim to be that person for you.
You may have seen my name in Good Housekeeping, Red or Stylist magazines who have all featured me recently. I offer short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy, with a warm and supportive approach to enable you to talk over your concerns in depth. I aim to help you explore your emotions, resolve your difficulties and move on from any problems that might be holding you back.
There are many different types of talking therapy available these days. I am an integrative relational therapist, meaning that I bring together certain aspects of different approaches that I believe work better together. I draw on a number of therapies, including person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).
The most common problems I come across are depression, anxiety, addiction, bereavement, anger management, trauma, career problems, and couples, family & relationship issues. Often people say they just feel 'stuck'. Whatever your reasons for reading this far, I’d say don’t sit with your problem and suffer for too long. The comment I hear most often from clients is that they wish they’d started therapy sooner.

REWIND: I have been trained and certified by the founder of Rewind, Dr David Muss, for safe and effective results for PTSD - post-traumatic stress.
I studied Psychology at the University of Hull and then did three years’ postgraduate research at Loughborough University, before joining a consultancy group there, working in occupational psychology.
I left to join Cosmopolitan magazine to set up a courses and careers division for readers, developing and running more than 100 personal development courses. We covered everything from management development, assertiveness training and negotiation skills, to life planning, sexuality workshops and public speaking.

I believe counselling should be available to all those who need it – if only the talking therapies were more widely available on the NHS! So I am happy to offer two concessionary places at any one time to those on low income or in financial hardship. These are available in Surrey between 10am-4pm and are £30. Please ask me for further details and availability.
I also offer a 20% discount to psychotherapy students (off-peak hours only).

I often write or am quoted as an 'expert' in carefully-chosen press. I do this to spread the word about the benefits of therapy and to tackle any remaining taboos head-on, as well as to widen my client base. However, you can rest assured that I NEVER, ever, write or talk about my clients. See my recent press cuttings here:
