MY APPROACH

Taking the initial step for help can be the most challenging but often is the most significant step in your journey of self-exploration and personal growth.

In our fast-paced world it can be difficult to connect with a sense of what makes us human and our own personal meaning. I am committed to accompanying you on your exploration to help you identify your struggles and challenges so you are able to gain clarity and a desired direction, and to unlock your potential to make meaningful life changes.

Together, working collaboratively, we will explore your difficulties, thoughts and feelings in a safe environment in order for you to unlock your inner potential to find your own solutions and to make informed choices which are right for you.

I offer person centred therapy as my core approach.

I am passionate about helping you achieve your fullest potential by offering a space for you to experience self-growth and positive life changes. You can view Frequently Asked Questions and more information on the therapeutic approach I use by visiting my website. Alternatively, please contact me for a free initial introductory call.

I have been in the counselling and psychotherapy profession since 2003. Throughout this time, I have continued to work with numerous diverse clients in my private practice who seek counselling for many different reasons.

Testimonials:

''My Sessions have helped me to peel off the armour I didn't know I was carrying around. It has been very freeing and liberating to feel listened to and acknowledged in all of my personal struggles and celebrations. I have gained many personal insights that I know I will use to my advantage in the future'' (Dec 2013)

''Your Sessions have been an invaluable experience to my recovery process in grieving the major losses in my life'' (Feb 2018)

''Rachael provided me with not only a safe space but also her finely tuned skills to help me explore and understand my problems and the outcome has been very significant and life changing, especially in the way I see things and how I understand myself and my behaviours much better so I can change them." ( Sept 2020)

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
