Philip Bailey, UKCP registered psychotherapist
I work with individual clients and also with couples. People who come to counselling with me often are suffering the effects of anxiety, trauma, grief, work-related stress, Christian spirituality issues, dissociation, depression and self harm. Also people who have lost someone close through or who have been caught up themselves in catastrophic events such as major accidents, terror attacks or war. Another speciality is working with people who sense their experience is different from others around them and who work well at concealling it from their friends and family, yet they want to make sense of their experiences. These personal experiences may continue to affect your life and you may want to work through some of these difficult, confusing or painful experiences to seek relief and to get some balance back. I can help you to look at these things and together we can work through what is affecting you. Often this allows you to make sense of your expeience and also to begin to see some relief from the affects.
With couples seeking help, I work mostly with people experiencing marriage or relationship difficulties. I also have experience of helping couples work through the affects from the death of children, who might have died in pregnancy or childbirth or through termination or death in early childhood.
My training as a counsellor and a psychotherapist has covered different approaches to therapy and I work with the approaches that I feel will be best for you.
My counselling room is in Aston Clinton about 3 miles south east of Aylesbury, just off the A41. This is close to towns and villages such as Aylesbury, Stoke Mandeville, Wendover, Tring, Thame, Halton, Pitstone, Ivinghoe and villages in between.
