''Being listened to was life changing - I can't stress that enough.''
(Client to a Counsellor)
If you feel you are at a point in your life where you need to explore an issue or resolve a difficulty, then counselling may be of benefit to you.
In many people's experience, counselling has offered them a secure, welcoming environment in which they acquire greater self-knowledge and understanding. This has enabled them to feel more in control of their life and better able to tackle the problems and issues that so many people face as they journey through life.
At the heart of counselling is the confidential and collaborative relationship between the client and the counsellor, that allows for the client to be heard in a warm, non-judgemental setting, rooted in an ethical and professional approach.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified and experienced counsellor specialising in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) who offers a professional and confidential counselling service. I have worked with people presenting with a wide variety of issues and problems ranging from bereavement and depression to anger management and work related issues.
I am particularly interested in problems relating to belief and spirituality.
I use a range of counselling strategies depending on the client's presenting problem and the client's needs. Through a collaborative process opportunities are created for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviour to reach a clearer understanding of their issues. They are then better placed to resolve their difficulties and have a greater chance of going forward with their lives.
I have an MA in Counselling and have worked as an associate counsellor for the Churches Counselling Service Wales (CCSW) and as a supervisor for Cruse Bereavement Care. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
