I offer a unique blend of coaching and counselling.
In the coaching world there is quite a lot of debate concerning the differences between coaching and counselling. My main assumption is that counselling is about alleviating distress and coaching concerns increasing potential and performance. However, the two are often interwoven and it is sometimes difficult to draw a clear line. Most people have simply a mixture of needs and do not fit into a box. That is why I decided to offer a blend of both approaches. At the same time, I want to be clear with my clients so that we both know what we are doing. Yes, let’s mix and yes let’s be aware whether we are working therapeutically or developmentally.
I am experienced in helping clients who have difficulties with:
- family and relationship issues
- eating disorders
- lost sense of self
- distorted self-image
- suicidal thoughts
- anger and conflict
Talking therapy is an effective tool to help people to manage their distress, unravel their dilemmas in a safe and confidential space. As a result, clients can uncover their resources and options in regards to what they are struggling with. I believe that therapy is not about digging into the past and trying to find the core of your issues. I think it is more beneficial to acknowledge the way clients are impacted by the past and concentrate on their present capacity for autonomy. My role is to listen and support you whilst you reflect on the way you make meaning out of your experiences. Some of us may be stuck in the past and need to update their world view so that their stories become adequate to the present. Some of us worry about future possibilities that may never become reality.

I have been working in people-oriented professions in a variety of contexts for the last 10 years. My roles included child supervision at summer camps, tutoring, teaching, training and coaching. Since I enjoy diversity I completed my M.Sc. in Biotechnology through an individual mode of studies that allowed me to attend classes at Poznan University of Life Sciences (Poland), University of Sheffield, University of Manchester and Agrocampus Ouest – Centre de Rennes (France). I worked as an English language tutor in France and in Poland which led me to completing my training as a Science teacher specialised in vocational and technical subjects. Subsequently, I taught the International Baccalaureate Curriculum in an international school in Poland. My need for adventure and diversity brought me to London where I started to work with challenging young people in a variety of settings, such as schools for students with emotional and behavioural difficulties and pupil referral units.
I became fascinated with human development and I decided to train as a coach using Transactional Analysis as a theoretical base. I attended my courses at TA WORKS Institute in Oxford where I completed the Level 7 Diploma for Professional Executive Coaches and Leadership Mentors course and I was accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management. I also hold a Counselling Diploma (People Practitioner) in Transactional Analysis and I have Qualified Teacher Status since 2009.
I have been working as a coach for 4 years and gained experience with educators and young people who face transition. I coached clients on increasing their potential, uncovering their resources and creating a more fulfilling life that matches their values (e.g. department leaders, educators starting languages schools, teachers in transition, young political leaders). I have experience counselling clients from all walks of life and a variety of cultural backgrounds. I did my study placement at a large London university that has a very diverse student population. In my counselling work I came across clients as young as nine as well as clients well in their sixties.
I attend appropriate supervision and I am a registered member (MBACP) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk) working towards accreditation. I adhere to their ethical framework. I am also a member of the International Transactional Analysis Association (https://www.itaaworld.org) working towards becoming a Certified Transactional Analyst.
