Peter Griffiths PGDip (Integrative) MBACP
Do you find yourself struggling with what life has thrown at you, whether this is a bereavement, job loss or work related stress, anxiety, depression or anything else. Are you finding yourself struggling with confusing choices or situations seemingly out of your control, or has life come to a standstill and you wish to move forward in life? You are not alone if this is something you recognise in yourself. Many of us have experienced both internal and external struggles and find ourselves in need of a little help in gaining some perspective to achieve an understanding or focus of our issues, or come to terms with past experiences that may be getting in the way of being who we want to be and lead the life we want to lead.
I am a qualified Relational Integrative Counsellor with experience of working with very challenging and chaotic issues. I specialise in sexual abuse and substance misuse, but am able to offer support in any issues you would choose to bring, offering a helping hand to find your way through to a life you would choose rather than the one you may have been given. I am empathic, offering a friendly, non-judgmental and confidential space for you to explore yourself and find inner peace.
As a Relational Integrative Counsellor I use a combination of models including Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existential and Gestalt in my practice. In this setting I will work collaboratively with you to create a specific approach, tailoring to your needs. I believe it is paramount to treat each individual and the problems they bring as such. I place great importance on the client/therapist relationship enabling an atmosphere of trust, safety and openness to occur. Your thoughts and feelings are with you for a reason, even if you feel they conflict with who you are. I will offer you a safe and non- judgemental space to explore and process your thoughts and feelings.
