About me

I am an addiction therapist and am qualified to work with all addictions such as: alcohol, drugs, gambling, sex, co-dependency & relationships, compulsive overeating & bulimia , spending, exercise, internet & computer games, work, self harm.

I am based in Guildford 5 days a week - Monday to Friday.

I offer bespoke 1-1 treatment as per your needs.

Once we start working together I then offer my clients 24 x 7 helpline direct to my mobile 365 days a year for all of my clients. This is a life time offer and is Free of Charge.

I am able able to help you with all addiction issues, including:

  • Alcohol
  • Drugs
  • Gambling
  • Sex
  • Co-dependency & relationships
  • Compulsive overeating & Bulimia
  • Spending
  • Exercise
  • Internet & computer games
  • Work.

Who do I work with?

Addiction does not discriminate – so I work with anyone from the age of 16.

People from all walks of life – students, housewives, manual workers, professionals - addiction makes us believe that our problems only apply to us...that in some way we are different and cursed. When I work together with you, you will realise that no matter who we are – whatever age – addiction causes us all to act the same way.

I never allow a client to believe they are intrinsically “bad”. Addiction is now widely regarded by addiction professionals as an illness, not a weakness or character flaw. My approach to treatment mirrors this philosophy.

Treatment means;

  • The end of your addiction of choice.
  • No more secrets – lies – covering up – misery.
  • No more physical problems, financial problems, destruction of social life and relationships.
  • You take the control back over your life – live your life free of addiction.
  • The chance to start life again

Family Programme
I have designed a family programme to offer education and support to families who are affected by someone that is living under the influence of an addiction.

The family programme offers the support you need to maintain your own health and sanity. It provides the tools to detach “with love” from the manipulation and deceit of a person still entrenched in their addiction.

I explain addiction and its consequences to you by means of short lectures. The programme lasts for eight weeks, one session a week each session lasting for 60 minutes.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a National Counsellor Accreditation Certificate (NCAC) awarded by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP) and a Diploma in Addiction Therapy. I have extensive experience in the addictions field, endorsed by over 25000 supervised clinical hours in addiction therapy.

I have worked as a therapist and team leader within a highly successful, nationally renowned addiction treatment centre in the South east. My skills include 1-1 client work, group therapy, family work, delivery of workshops and lectures.

I am fully insured with Professional Liability Cover.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Whilst I specialise in addiction counselling during the process of exploration and counselling we will explore all issues that act as the emotional triggers to use the addictive process. My skills in general counselling are a major part in reframing clients with addiction issues. I also happily work with clients that have no addiction issues but are struggling with life on life's terms.

I am available for motivational therapy.  Helping people move forwards and reframing low periods of their life.  I am also able to help with life coaching and preparation.

Client Feedback

“Peter’s been amazing. Four months in he’s helped me gain complete control of my drinking, and we have started to work on the rest of me now. When I first met with Peter I immediately felt at ease. He is friendly and personable, and completely non-judgemental. His combination of professionalism and genuine interest in my situation means that he remembers what I tell him week to week in far more detail than anyone else I’ve seen. It’s impressive. Needless to say, I would recommend anyone struggling with an addiction to give Peter a try.”
Bryce C

"I have been having one on one sessions with Peter for nearly a year now and I have found Peter to be insightful, supportive and very understanding of my needs. Peters counselling has improved my well being and has made me a much calmer person in both my personal and professional life. I can’t thank Peter enough for all his help and guidance and I hold him in the highest regard."
Nick E

“I never thought my 20yr addiction to alcohol could be broken, as I had received counselling before. My sessions with Peter however, have finally allowed the next phase of my life to continue free from drink and Sober. With his understanding and valuable insight into exactly how I felt, I have also managed to repair an important relationship with my Sister which I did not think was possible. I will be forever grateful for his help”.
