About me

I am available for in person, face to face sessions in my office in Beckenham (Tuesday only)
Hello I am Pauline and I offer on-line counselling
via Zoom or Facetime.

If you are finding life a struggle at the moment or have an issue that you are finding difficult to deal , then I can help.

I  am a qualified counsellor and accredited member of the BACP, I offer caring, non-judgmental and confidential counselling.

Are you struggling with a difficult situation or relationship in your life ?

Have you experienced a loss, a bereavement or end of a relationship ?

Are you feeling anxious ?

I can help you make sense of what you are feeling and experiencing and gain a greater understanding of yourself and your relationships

I like to think of counselling as a safe and secure place where you are given an opportunity to talk to someone about how you really feel and explore the possibility of change.

We may know what is causing our problems: a difficult relationship, (past or present) loss of a loved one, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed or generally just feeling sad. Sometimes it’s that we just don't feel right inside.

I work with an integrative approach with a focus on the relationship between the client and counsellor, which I believe is fundamental to the success of therapy.

I combine aspects of several models of therapy depending on the needs of each unique client.    This includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) it can be useful to look at our relationship with our own thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.  The aim of counselling is to help you talk about a problem and then work together to discover a solution that is right for you. I offer a flexible and thoughtful approach to each client’s therapy.

What this means is that you have a safe space to talk, it may be about issues that are concerning you in your life now, or a difficult experience from the past.

Counselling can help with many difficult situations, and I have experience of working with a wide range of client issues, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self esteem, OCD, relationship difficulties, bereavement and loss and problems with anger. I also work with bereaved clients in a hospice setting.

I offer an initial session to explore your current concerns and expectations of counselling and I aim to answer any questions you may have, so you can then decide whether I am the right counsellor for you. There is no obligation to continue but if you decide to, I offer both short-term solution based therapy or longer term therapy.

I can't always change your situation but I can help you change the way you feel about it

Please call or e-mail me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
