About me

Hello, my name is Pauline and I am an experienced professional counsellor, working with both adults and young people.  I am a person centred counsellor and I feel passionate about helping people to become more self-aware and become the very best version of themselves. Counselling is a journey of self-discovery and finding the right counsellor can feel confusing and overwhelming.

We can all experience times when life is a struggle and this can leave us feeling overwhelmed, stressed and anxious.  Perhaps the challenges of everyday life have left you feeling lost or depressed which in turn is making you feel isolated and alone.

Whatever your reason for considering counselling, I will provide a safe, empathic, confidential and non-judgmental space.  I believe that everyone has an inner resource to find the answers to their own problems but sometimes we need help and guidance to find the answers we are looking for. Working together we will explore your feelings and emotions to help you find a new perspective on your life, find more effective ways to help you manage everyday life, so supporting you to start making different life choices. The outcomes you can expect may include a greater ability to handle life’s challenges, improved emotional well being and greater resilience to help you to move forward and be the person you really want to be.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have experience volunteering in a residential rehabilitation clinic (drug & alcohol) in Luton and also a Charity in Bedford, which provides counselling for 13-25 year olds (which I am still involved with).  I am also a school counsellor working with upper school students.

I have experience working with many issues, including self-harm, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, bullying, addiction, trauma, sexual assault, gender identity, suicidal thoughts and attempts, school and exam stress and family problems.

I can offer both short term (6-12 sessions) and long term counselling, either in Clifton, Bedfordshire or Bedford (which is wheelchair accessible). I am a registered member of the B.A.C.P. (British Association of Counsellors and Pyschotherapy) and I work within their ethical framework. I offer discounts for students and trainee counsellors.

Finding the right counsellor for you is important.  If you are interested in exploring what it might be like to work with me as your counsellor, please do get in touch either by email or calling the number provided. We can arrange a free, no obligation, short telephone assessment before you decide.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
