Pauline Deazley Accred Counsellor, BSc (Hons) Trauma Studies, CBT Therapist
Hi my name is Pauline and I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a mature and experienced practitioner with an excellent grasp of counselling principles and theories. I am skilled in working across issues and client age ranges with special expertise in working with relationship counselling, sexual abuse and trauma. I bring warmth and commitment and a non judgemental stance to my client work. I provide counselling in safe, ethical and supportive environments where clients have the opportunity to explore issues and consider changes which will enhance their lives and relationships.
I have considerable experience in working with relationship issues, bereavement, depression, anxiety and trauma, issues which cause disruption in peoples' lives. I have worked with young people exploring issues such as family breakdown, eating disorders and bereavement. I have also worked with people living with dementia, both sufferers and carers.
As an accredited member of BACP I work within their code of ethics and complaints procedures. I have appropriate professional insurance and offer a discrete and confidential counselling and supervision service in Belfast, Crumlin and Derry/Londonderry. I have Access NI clearance to work with both children and vulnerable adults.
I can offer you help and support with relationship difficulties, bereavement, loss, anxiety, stress, childhood issues, low self esteem and psychological trauma.
I trained as a person-centred counsellor at Queens University and since then have gained additional specialised qualifications which allow me to work safely with psychological trauma. I am a trained Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, a therapy which can help reduce symptoms of anxiety, panic and depression and I can use specialist skills to help clients break out of self defeating and unhelpful patterns of behaviour and achieve their full potential.
