Paula James-Lewis BSC (Hons) MBACP Dip.Couns
'Why do I need counselling?' Life is a journey that rarely takes us from A to B, or follows the plans that we put in place. We can lose our way, encounter obstacles, and lose sight of our direction. Sometime obstacles can be experienced as a trauma that hits us to the core of our being, however often enough we can experience the obstacle as a feeling that 'something just doesn't feel right'. Counselling can open up an understanding when problems are faced, and find a new awareness of the way to move forward.
I can offer you a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space, where you will experience the support to explore, make decisions about the choices you want to take, and crucially, find a happier you.
Making the decision to embark on counselling is daunting in itself, therefore I am happy to contact you by phone or email to have an informal and open discussion. This can help you see if you want to move forward with an assessment.
The first assessment provides you with an opportunity to see if you will be happy to work with me, and explore what you want from your counselling sessions. Counselling is a collaborative process so it is vital that you feel comfortable. We can agree the number of sessions in respect to your needs.
I work from an integrative approach in working collaboratively with what works best for you. I offer short and long term counselling at a cost of £35 for a 50 minute session. I work from a premises in Lower Parkstone.
I understand that life is busy so I am able to offer some evening and Saturday morning appointments in addition to day time appointments.
