About me

making the decision to come to therapy can be a very daunting prospect so choosing the right therapist can be even more daunting. How do you chose a therapist how do you know what's right for you or more to the point chose a person that you need to trust with your worries when you don't know them? As a therapist I am aware of the anxiety that this decision can raise. I am an integrative therapist which encompasses all aspects and methods of therapeutic theories. I have two years experience of working with children in a primary school with place2be. I am currently an in-school therapist in a pupil referral unit and work with young people who have both emotional and behavioural issues. I am a freedom programme facilitator which has propelling my ability to work with women who have been or are still in abusive relationships and also allowed an insight into males who feel they are either an abuser or abused. I am a qualified anger management coach and mediator with experience of working with people with anger issues. I have been a mentor with teenagers for over 18 years. All of my experience and professional qualifications provides any prospective client reassurance that I have knowledge in a wide range of subjects. Due to some of the difficult situations people I have worked with have found them self in I have a strong ability to remain completely non judgemental and supportive. If you are keen to work on your issues and need a supportive person who is willing to help guide you towards a happier self then I believe I am the right therapist for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at inter-psyche for three year diploma which included one to one work in the nhs for one year. I also have an upper 2:1 in social sciences. I have trained as a freedom programme facilitator, a mentor for teenagers, an anger management coach and a mediator. I have worked with children for over 15 years and I specialise in working on a one to one basis with children aged from 6-18. I have also completed a personality disorder course and an obsessive compulsive awareness course. i have been a counsellor in a local primary school for the past year and I have completed courses with place2be.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
