Paula Appleton Adv Dip. Counselling Psychotherapist Registered Member MBACP
Paula Appleton Adv Diploma Registered Member MBACP.
Level 6 NVQ British Sign Language.
I am a qualified Counsellor with experience working with individuals of all ages working with an integrative approach, thus I combine a range of counselling therapies tailoring them for each individual client in line with the BACP Ethical Framework.
My experience has led me to initiate and set up a counselling service within a local Academy and Special Educational Needs Resource, where I continue to provide counselling to pupils and staff, in addition to providing support to parents.
There are times in our lives when life events challenge us and they can affect us all physically, psychologically and emotionally. Counselling offers you the opportunity to take some "time out" to focus on your own well-being; it provides a safe place to explore difficult situations and the emotional and psychological difficulties that arise because of them.
It is somewhere you will be truly heard, a place where you are able to identify and tell, and if necessay re-tell, your life experiences. You may want to look back at your life and gain an insight as to why you feel certain emotions or react to things in a particular way. You may, however, wish to look at what is happening now so that you can explore options for either acceptance or change, so that you are empowered to be able to move forward to a happier future. Furthermore, if you wish, we can look ahead to how you would like your life to look and work towards those goals together.
