My blog is here...

Person-centred counselling is about providing a therapeutic atmosphere so that you can feel safe and comfortable enough to share what is on your mind, knowing you will not be judged, and that you will be treated with utmost respect. This makes a foundation for tools that can bring a more lasting change. Like neuro linguistic programming - NLP, where we challenge your language and behaviour patterns. NLP (the study of subjective experience) is similar to CBT, but it also draws forward the best working tools from all the different psychotherapy models.

"When someone really hears you, without passing judgement on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, IT FEELS DAMN GOOD!" Carl Rogers.

Basically, I work with clients who need either ongoing support, or who would like to attend therapy short term. It is entirely the client's choice. Areas like, confidence, assertiveness, stress, anxiety, bereavement, change in circumstances, difficult decisions.

How can Well Women Counselling (Lincolnshire) help me?

It is our aim to help you to feel more confident and content with yourself, and your life. Sometimes it can help to talk to a friend about troubles, but other times it can help to talk to a professionally qualified person who is totally outside of your situation, who can talk with you objectively, in a professional and confidential atmosphere, where you can be reassured that you will not be judged, and be accepted as yourself.

What kind of issues can I bring to counselling?

Please see the list of issues that has been ticked on this Counselling Directory profile page. If you feel your situation is not on the list, please feel free to ask, we may still be able to help you, or may have information to send to you about other organisations that may be able to help.

What should I expect at the first counselling session?

Your first counselling session is about getting to know your counsellor, and vice versa. It is important that you can feel comfortable working together. At the beginning of the first session, if it has not already been carried out, an assessment will take place. The counsellor will simply sit with you and go through a list of questions. This is to give an idea of the kind of help that you may need. It might be that you would be better being referred to another organisation, who can help more specifically. But, an assessment helps the counsellor formulate a fluid plan to help you better, and to give her an idea of your immediate needs. If there is time at the first session, counselling and/or therapy will begin. However, the main counselling work usually begins at the second session.

Can I bring someone with me?

You are welcome to bring a friend, partner or relative with you. We have a quiet place where they can sit and wait for you. It is not general practice to have someone sit in with your counselling sessions, because this may affect your unique process, and the way in which you communicate with your counsellor.

How do I pay for my counselling sessions?

Payment is made at the end of each counselling session.

How do I book an appointment?
