Hello. I am a fully qualified cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and work at a centre in Birkenhead which offers counselling to adults who are experiencing various forms of anxiety, stress, depression, phobias, anger issues or low self-esteem. I also offer private sessions of counselling to both adults and young people. My specialist method is cognitive, behavioural therapy (CBT)
I have over 40 years experience working within different caring professions. Helping people to overcome the obstacles that can prevent them living life to the full has been an important goal in my life.
After training and working originally as a teacher, I was later employed as a national youth development manager for a charitable organisation before returning to the high school environment in a counselling role to the staff and the students. After further training in cognitive, behavioural therapy, I was impressed by the proven effectiveness of this method of counselling, particularly in the treatment of anxiety and depression, and now specialise in cognitive, behavioural therapy in my present work.
I have many interests including musical theatre, board games and football (I am a Liverpool FC season ticket holder but please don’t hold that against me!!)
Please phone or email me if you think I may be able to help you in any way. I am a really good listener and we can talk in confidence before you decide whether to commit yourself to any one-to-one sessions.
