About me

Paul Hughes: Distinction graduate, national award winner and trainer of future therapists.

Hello

I'm sorry that you have to be here, looking for a solution to what may, right now, seem to be an impossible problem.

I don't know what you wish to achieve but I already know you can do it. You really can and I’m looking forward to helping you. You may not know it, yet, but you already have everything you need to achieve the things you wish for. I can help you to see your strengths and I can help you to use them. I can help you to leave your problems behind you, where they belong, for good!

If you'd like the help of a warm, experienced and highly trained therapist then please read on.

I have undertaken four years of training because I think that you deserve the best therapy available. I have learned to use counselling skills and psychotherapy in order to help people to make changes to their lives. I have learned to use hypnotherapy in order to consolidate and maintain these changes - for good.

Hypnotherapy can combine with counselling skills in order to help people make changes to their lives. Counselling is a wonderful thing. When combined with hypnotherapy it can achieve wonders.

Whenever emotions are involved in a problem, hypnotherapy can help. I see people for all manner of problems. I help people to overcome PTSD, depression, OCD, anxiety disorders, childhood abuse, confidence issues, addictions, phobias, sexual performance issues and much much more.

You should feel comfortable with the person you choose as your therapist.

Call me on 07786 123736 or 01865 600970 and we can get to know each other a little bit, before arranging to meet in person. I believe you'll find me to be a warm, professional and caring person and research shows that the relationship between client and therapist is extremely important. I provide hypnotherapy to people in Reading, Wallingford and Oxford. So, wherever you live in Oxfordshire or Berkshire, I’m bound to have an office close enough to you.

My clients are all such wonderful people. They may not see it. You may not see it, yet, but I can see people’s strengths. I spy their fine qualities and show people how they’re already everything they need to be in order to feel better about themselves. You already have everything you need in order to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve. Whatever the problem may be, you can be rid of it.

I will help you to see your strengths and it’s this which will give you the confidence to achieve the things you want and need to happen. When we’re done you will have learned to become your own therapist. Not only will you have resolved issue “A,” you will also be better able to deal with issues “B, C and D,” should such issues ever arise in the future.Whether you’re stressed, depressed, suffering from low self-esteem, IBS, chronic pain, phobias or trapped within an addictive behaviour, hypnotherapists can help.

Perhaps you'd now like to give me a call so that we can discuss these things in more detail. I'll be more than happy to talk with you.

Best wishes

Paul

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold an Advanced Diploma in hypno-psychotherapy (Distinction) from the NCHP and am UKCP accredited. Very, very few hypnotherapy training courses (four out of dozens and dozens and dozens) come anywhere near being good enough to receive UKCP accreditation. I took that extra mile because I believe that my clients deserve the very best possible therapy.

I received the Beilby Prize and Founders award whilst training so you can be sure that I am highly trained and ethical. The NSHP and UKCP are among the very few organisations which campaign for the psychotherapy profession to be regulated. We want the profession to be regulated in order that our clients can be sure they are receiving the best possible therapy.

I belong to UKCP. This is my professional body and has the most rigorous ethical code in the profession. It forbids, for example, the use of testimonials. Your confidentiality is more valuable than a few good words on a website.

I also belong to the CNHC, a body which regulates the complementary health "industry." The NHS recommends that people should only consult with those therapists who belong to this body.

I am also a qualified Child and Adolescent Counsellor, continuing my training in order to become a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. As a one time teacher I have a great deal of experience in working with young people. You can read more of my work with children and adolescents at www.resolvedcounsellingforchildren.com

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Fees

Additional information

I'm not the cheapest therapist in Reading. They say that we get what we pay for and what you'd get is a result of the longest and most thorough training available. Four years of training isn't cheap! I charge £70 per hour, though reduced fees are available for those who are on low incomes, students or under 18 years of age. No matter what your circumstances may be, do give me a call. I believe that income shouldn't stand in the way of therapy. Those on low incomes deserve to be free of their problems as much as do those with a little more money to spare.

For smokers I work to a two session model and charge £170 for both together. You are also welcome to a free follow-up session. Only one client has ever needed one.

How much would you pay to be rid of your problem? You're worth every penny.

When I work

I work in Reading, Oxford, Thame and Wallingford. My availability shifts according to client numbers in different locations. Call me and we'll find a time to meet. Best wishes. Paul

Further information

I specialise in helping those with Asperger's Syndrome and people who suffered emotional abuse whilst children. I am also the therapist of choice for Oxford hospitals looking for hypnotherapists who are able to work with tinnitus.

I once had hypnotherapy for smoking. It worked like a charm. I also, some years ago, underwent a little counselling. I found it amazingly effective. It was these experiences which led, eventually, to my decision to begin training. I wanted to be able to help others as I had, myself, been helped. This is how I can be sure that hypnotherapy and hypno-psychotherapy can be so effective.
