About me

I see individuals and couples, either face to face or Online using Zoom.

Finding the right therapist for you and asking for help can be a daunting task, especially if you are feeling anxious and uncertain.  I have many years of experience with a broad range of problems, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and relationship issues.

I offer short-notice appointments, so you get seen, heard, and helped quickly.  You choose a location and time that works for you.  Online is the fastest and most flexible for short-notice appointments.

  • Sudbury
  • Colchester
  • Frinton
  • Clacton
  • Outside locations
  • ZOOM Online

You may have been considering finding help for a while now, and finally, you have decided to take that step.  All these anxious feelings are natural, you are not alone in this.  With professional help, you can feel more at ease.

'Research findings have shown that some therapy is better than no therapy at all'

A 50-minute reduced-fee assessment session may help you decide if I am the right Therapist for you.  You can also contact me if you are uncertain regarding your type of problem.  Send an email, text, or phone (the fastest way to make contact with me initially is via text).   I do not offer free sessions for good professional reasons, I am however willing to give you a call back to discuss your requirements.

We can work together in a confidential therapeutic relationship that will allow you to explore your experiences in a safe manner.  I have experience working with individuals and couples on many types of problems.  How we connect with each other determines some of the outcomes we will achieve.

Emotion-focused therapy is an effective integrative humanistic therapy, supported by research evidence. The therapy integrates person-centred therapy, gestalt therapy, constructivist methods, and psychodynamic ideas on relationship attachments. I aim to support you, value your decisions and offer therapeutic task interventions on whatever life experiences you wish to bring to therapy,

Psychological well-being is just as important as physical health.

Appointments are available at short notice.

A registered therapist with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I have worked at home and abroad with many people and many different types of problems.  I have a vast amount of experience working online and many years of face-to-face therapy.

Humanistic Emotion Focused Therapist holding professional qualifications in Humanistic integrative counselling (BACP Accredited Programme Gold Book Standards) and Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Dip).

I also hold advanced professional training certificates (Adv Cert) in Emotion Focused Therapy. This is an empirically validated method that biases my work towards process experiential emotion-focused psychotherapy.

Other training includes psychology, core concepts of mental health, understanding fear and sadness, neurology of psychological distress, and emotionally-focussed couples therapy.

Online therapy experience and university studies around the complexities of online work.

My experience covers a wide range of problems. All of my casework is confidentially supported by a registered BACP supervisor, this is in line with BACP professional requirements.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
