About me

My name is Patrick Goodlet. I am an integrative counsellor which means I have the knowledge and experience to tailor my approach to best suit my clients issues. I see individuals, couples in private offices in Livingston and Lanarkshire.

I offer a professional, welcoming and warmly supportive environment. I work alongside my clients in a completely non-judgemental way - you are the expert in whatever is troubling you or your relationships.

I have experience of working with a full range of issues which clients may bring. I am trained and qualified to work with individuals, couples and families.

I have extensive experience in bereavement counselling.

I have also carried out additional extensive specialised training in couples and family relationship counselling to Masters degree level.

I want my services to be available to as wide a client base as possible and offer to adjust my client charges when appropriate.

I also offer telephone and Zoom counselling to clients based locally and internationally.
I am a fully qualified and experienced person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. For further personal information, please refer to my details page on the At Your Side Therapy website using the web site link above.

I am a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) . This requires me to hold insurance and work to the Code of Ethics of the main counselling standards authorities in the UK.

I also hold an additional qualification in clinical hypnosis. This approach can be integrated into my client work, where appropriate, for example with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-confidence and self-esteem.

I am able to see clients within our office suite in Livingston or at my office in Lanarkshire which ever is more convenient.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
