Hello! I’m Pat, welcome to my profile. Difficulties and distress in your life right now seem to be leading you to seek counselling help. Please read on to find out more about me and what I can offer you.

I work with adults on an individual basis and I provide a safe and quiet space for counselling. Central to my work is building and maintaining a confidential, warm and supportive relationship with clients. I believe that the nature and quality of this therapeutic relationship is the most important factor in promoting understanding, healing and change.
Here you will have the opportunity to talk and tell your story, be respectfully listened to and feel understood. You can begin to understand and value yourself more and make the positive changes in your life you would like to. As a result you can come to see the world in a more positive way, enjoying a better quality of life and facing the future with confidence.

I seek to tailor my work to individual personalities and needs, working in an holistic and integrative way.

My work is fully insured, professionally supervised and I adhere to the BACP ethical framework. I hold a current advanced CRB check. I take active steps to continuing professional development as a counselling practitioner.

I work integratively from a Person-Centred core, drawing on understandings from Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Sensorimotor approaches.

In addition to my private practice I am an associate counsellor of a counselling centre in Nottingham and work in the voluntary sector in Derby.

Fees

My fee is currently £35 for each 1 hour session. I am willing to negotiate a concessionary rate with you if you are a student or otherwise on low income and this can be discussed at our first meeting.

Further Information

I entered counselling following a career in teaching.

I am a Christian and I am comfortable with and welcome those of any faith, or of none.

I am available at times from Monday to Thursday between 9.30 a.m and 6.0 pm and may be able to offer evening appointments also on those days.

My practice is in a quiet location in Belper, situated on a bus route and with easy roadside parking.
