My name is Patricia and I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist within the Jungian model.
I offer a safe space to discuss your worries and concerns which can prove invaluable, especially if you do not wish to burden your family and friends. Within this space we can explore alternative ways of feeling, thinking and behaving which may prove to be more comfortable and cost less energy.
I have experience of working with:
- anxiety and panic attacks
- bereavement and loss
- low self esteem
- stress at work
- relationship difficulties and divorce
- surviving abuse
- and many other issues.
I am trained in an integrated approach to client care including, receiving and listening, Jungian psychology, psychodynamic insights, creative dreamwork and a variety of assisted self-help approaches (using journaling, dream diaries and books). As well as working with dreams and assisting my client's with the individuation process i.e.maturation, I also offer psychodynamic insights when this may be considered to be a more fruitful approach.
Often the difficulties we bring to therapy are linked to our relationships to others e.g. repeated patterns which are unhelpful. In therapy you can practice new ways of relating;testing out new behaviours to see if they help you and give the results you seek. There is time to go deeper into the issues you bring, exploring how the problems of today may have their roots in your past. If they do you will find that the same issues play out in the room which gives us a chance to look at them in more detail and explore together alternative ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.
The initial meeting will last approximately one hour. I will be there to welcome you and listen to something of your story, why you have come and what you might be hoping for from our work together. I work with the philosophy that each client is unique and therefore has differing needs and expectations regarding what they hope to gain from their therapy.
At the end of the session you will be able to choose further sessions or be given the option of a referral. If you decide to continue we will decide over time which approach may be the most suitable for your particular needs.
