About me

I believe that counselling can help overcome feelings of doubt and confusion, anxiety and depression by giving us a clearer understanding of why we feel like this.  We can then  begin to see how we can change the way we think or start coming to terms with the situations we cannot change such as loss and bereavement. Counselling provides a safe place in which you can explore your feelings and help you to move on with your life.  Sometimes childhood experiences can hold us back and life changing events such as divorce, bereavement and loss can make us feel uncertain and confused and which if not addressed can lead to anxiety, depression, low self- esteem and confidence problems. By understanding why we are experiencing these difficulties we can start to overcome them. I can offer one to one counselling in a confidential and non - judgemental enviroment, staying with you as you explore and work through your feelings. I offer short term or long term counselling according to the clients needs.

Each appointment is for fifty minutes - the first appointment is for you to find out how counselling works, then to find a way forward this will also help you to decide if counselling is the appropriate help for you: I will always refer a client on to other supportive organisations that I am not able to help with:

I have a special interest and experience in counselling people who have problems with alcohol and drug misuse. I can offer counselling for these problems and for relatives and friends that are affected by someones drinking or addiction:
