Welcome to my profile. I hope you find the following information useful in your search for a counsellor. This is an important step in your process and if you feel that you would like to ask me any questions about my practice then please do not hesitate to contact me.
I am a qualified and experienced Humanistic & Gestalt Counsellor. I am primarily based in Warsash (SO31).
I believe that people have the potential and the resources to live fulfilling lives. However, from time to time you may find yourself facing difficult and challenging situations. You may feel overwhelmed, distressed and unable to cope. Your present experiences can often trigger memories of past difficulties and these can be confusing for you to process alone.
I see my role as a counsellor to provide a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space. I seek to create openness in my therapeutic relationships. I will support you as you explore your experiences and your feelings in order to reach greater understanding, clarity and awareness.
I work with people across age groups from 16 years upwards. I have supported people through a wide range of issues. These include anxiety, depression, ante & post natal depression, anger, stress, bereavement, loss, self injury, sexuality, gender identity, self esteem, family problems, relationship problems, work related problems. I am aware that every person will experience their own issues as an individual therefore I aim to work with each person based on their unique needs.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I adhere to the Professional Ethical Framework which can be viewed at www.bacp.co.uk. I am also a member of the Hampshire Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
